Jack A. McPhee, age 91, of Brooklyn Park, passed away on July 27, 2022.
Jack grew up in Aberdeen, South Dakota where he met the love of his life, Donna. They settled in Brooklyn Center and then Brooklyn Park where they raised their three children, Michael, Lynda, and Lisa. Jack and Donna just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this spring.
Jack served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for 46 years as a National Sales Executive in the printing industry. Jack enjoyed life—golfing, hunting, fishing, and travel. His favorite pastimes were tending to his flower gardens and feeding the birds as well as duck families that followed him around the yard. Jack was active in the community as a volunteer at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and the Elks. He also served as groundskeeper for his neighborhood association.
Jack loved people and cherished gatherings with family, friends, and neighbors. Many special memories were created over the years. Jack will be remembered for his love of family, always being willing to help others, and sharing his life stories. He lived his life as a man of faith and integrity. He will be dearly missed by so many family members and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and son, Michael. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna; daughter-in-law, Amy Okaya; daughters, Lynda (Carl) Lestor and Lisa (Scott) DeVries; grandchildren, Kelsey (Damon) Thayer, Kellen (Jenn) Lestor, Tyler (Katie) DeVries, Derek DeVries, and Kyle DeVries; and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Friday, August 5th at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 7217 West Broadway Ave., Brooklyn Park. Visitation begins at 10:00 am, Service at 11:30 am, and Luncheon to follow. The Service will be livestreamed at princeofpeacechurch.org.
