Marjorie Kramka

Marjorie Ellen Kramka, of Maple Grove, Minnesota, died August 27, 2024, on her 96th birthday. She is survived by 5 sons, David (Carol), Steven, Jonathan (Kari), Peter (Janet), and Larry (Laurie); 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 2 siblings, Margaret Perkins and Marian (the late John) Best. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Evelyn Perkins; her husband of 65 years, Lawrence Kramka; a sister Marilyn Hall; a brother Loren Perkins; and a great-granddaughter, Matilda Miller.

She was born in 1928 in Elgin, Illinois, and lived most of her life there. She graduated from Elgin High School, worked for a time at the Elgin Watch factory, and then studied at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago before her marriage in 1950 to Larry Kramka. She was her church pianist and sang in small groups for many years. She and her husband Larry (died 2015) moved to the Twin Cities after retirement to be near extended family.

Marjorie was a devoted wife and mother, friend to many, and a faithful follower of Jesus. She especially enjoyed family gatherings, music, and flowers. She will be remembered as a kind, caring woman by those who knew her.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 11 AM at Maple Ridge Church, 13400 Maple Knoll Way, Maple Grove, MN 55369. Visitation will be an hour before the service, and a light luncheon will follow.

Memorial gifts may be sent directly to the Salvation Army, a favorite charity of Marge’s.
