Marvin K Cummins

On April 12, 2024, our dear husband, father, grandfather, and brother Marvin K. Cummins was called to rest in the arms of Jesus.

Marv was born on a farm near Winterset, Iowa, on May 26th, 1941, to George & L. Blanche (Jones) Cummins. He was baptized at First Methodist Church in Winterset & confirmed at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Cherokee, Iowa. His family moved often during his childhood because his father sold Blue Cross Insurance. He graduated from high school in Garner, Iowa, and attended MN School of Business in Minneapolis with a degree in accounting. After graduation, he joined the army, and served as an MP at Camp Darby, in Livorno, Italy.

In 1966, he moved back to Minnesota where he met and married his wife, LeAnn Wascher. They were married for 52 years and were blessed with two children, Janna and Bradley. Their family moved to Corcoran, MN in 1981 and joined St. John’s Lutheran Church where Marv was a very active member.

Marv worked as a CPA and opened his own business where he made lifelong relationships with many clients. He also served on the board at C.R.O.S.S. for many years, delivered Meals on Wheels and wishes for Make-A-Wish.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed participating in sports, especially bowling, golf and softball. He loved working in his yard, taking vacations with his family and friends and eating peanut butter and pickle sandwiches.

Marv is survived by his wife LeAnn; daughter Janna; son Brad; granddaughter Jada; brother Chuck; brother-in-law Don; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Larry; and sister Judy.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 11AM at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9141 County Rd 101, Corcoran. Visitation will be held from 9-11AM. Interment to follow at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery with a luncheon held afterwards at church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
