Norman Paulson

Norman Paulson was born May 6, 1932 to Haldan and Anna Paulson in Grafton, North Dakota. He attended Grafton High School graduating in 1950. Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and served in 1952-54 as a corporal stationed in New York as military coastal defense. He received an honorable discharge in November of 1960. After returning home, he enrolled at the University of North Dakota. He received his degree in Mechanical Engineering and then married Barbara Calvin on February 20, 1971 in St Paul, MN. The couple lived in St Paul for the first few years of their marriage. They moved to Maple Grove in 1975 and have resided there ever since. He retired as a mechanical engineer from Skarns in 2000. He enjoyed skiing in his younger years as well as golf, traveling and tennis; playing tennis into his 70's. He passed away peacefully at North Memorial Hospital on January 31, 2022 at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 25 days. Preceded in death by his parent's, Haldan and Anna Paulson, brother Wilmer Paulson. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara of Maple Grove; his children Sandi (Jack) Czyson of East Bethel, Jason Paulson of Maple Grove ; four grandchildren Bre Czyson, Brandon Czyson, Alec Zielenski and Nathan Zielenski; and his brother Glen Paulson.

Funeral Service 10:30AM Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 9100 93^rd Ave N., Brooklyn Park, MN 55445 with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at church. Interment at a later date at Ft. Snelling.
