Spencer "Spank" Winge

Spencer “Spank” Winge of Maple Grove b.3/30/38-5/16/2021 passed away surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bea and Maury Winge, and siblings Woody, Patty, and Betty. He is survived by his wife Marlys; daughter Kristin Winge Draayer (Jack Christopher); grandchildren Tyler (Amanda), Stephanie and Spencer (Maggie); Great- grandchild Elizabeth; siblings Sandy and Russ; many beloved nieces and nephews; and treasured dogs Lacie and Susie. Spank was born in Montevideo, MN and was raised in Morris, MN. In 1964, Spank married his wife Marlys, and in 1965 they welcomed their daughter Kris. For 34 years, Spank worked for NSP, retiring in 1997. In his freetime, Spank was an avid artist and motorcycle rider, with a real sweet tooth. Spank enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, and cherished his time at the cabin. Spank was also a proud Navy Vet. A visitation service is scheduled for Friday, May 21st from 4-7 at Evans-Nordby (34 2nd St NE, Osseo, MN, 55369), with a small service to follow. Internment at Fort Snelling to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Humane Society.The family wishes to thank the ICU staff at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
