W. James Hendrickson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024. Born in Detroit Lakes in 1946, James made his mark as an educator and dedicated mentor at Milaca High School, where he taught agriculture and oversaw the FFA program for over 25 years. Renowned for his kindness, generosity, and sharp wit, James had an unwavering passion for connecting with others and engaging in meaningful conversations. His laughter and genuine interest in everyone he met made him a friend to all.
He found joy in simple pleasures, including beautiful flower arrangements, spending time with loved ones, attending church, and embarking on driving expeditions across the country. A skilled cook, James prepared delicious meals for friends and family, and his wise sayings, such as "Hunger is the best seasoning," will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. James is survived by his wife, Lois, their children, Scott (Bernadette) and Sara (Derek), and his cherished grandchild, Roman. His legacy of love, laughter, and wisdom will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
